Delmarva Christian Service Camp

Delmarva Christian Service Camp

History of the
Delmarva Christian Service Camp

Where we started and how we got here:
The Delmarva Christian Service Camp originated with the faith and devotion to Christ Jesus by a small group of preachers and their respective church members on Delmarva.
The camp began by renting state facilities at Cape Henlopen for the first four years of its incorporation, then purchased a 33 acre wooded tract near Laurel, Delaware in October,1974.
The facilities now include three dormitories, a large gym/cafeteria building, commercial kitchen, bath house, newly constructed pole barn, baseball field, and a 60 foot swimming pool. The camp now has 60 wooded camping sites for tents and recreational vehicles, each with water and electric hook ups.
At this current location, eight weeks of summer camp are offered to young people ranging from first grade through high school graduates. A women's retreat begins the camp program in early June, followed by "Missions Camp". The "Delmarva Family Camp" meets the week after July 4th, and the camp season is closed out with a men's retreat at the end of September.
DCSC is governed by a board consisting of the evangelist plus two men from each of the twenty Churches of Christ and Christian Churches on Delmarva.
