Stuff You Will Want to Know

Registration: Camper/Staff Mail:
Completed health/registration form and non-refundable $5.00 pre-registration fee should be postmarked no later than May 31. (You must register for your own age group, as indicated by the grade entering in September.) If camper requests an exception, the Dean of the week desired must grant permission before pre-registration can be confirmed. To guarantee your reservation, register early! Campers eagerly anticipate the daily mail call at the evening meal. Traditionally, anyone receiving 3 letters/postcards or a single package must sing a song or tell a joke to receive their mail! Please send camper/staff mail to the address below. (Do not send business correspondence to this address.)
What to Bring: Telephone Usage:
Bible, paper, pencil, bedding, pillow, toiletries, towels, washcloths, beach towel, swimwear, rainwear, flashlight, stationery and stamps, portable fan, musical instrument, camera, prescription medication, comfortable footwear, mission/canteen/t-shirt money ($10-$20), sweater or light jacket, shower flip-flops, pool shoes and bath robe. (All prescription medications must be in their original pharmacy-issued containers, specifying dosages.) If you child is prone to homesickness, it is usually best just to write them rather than visit or call. Encourage them before they come, to have a good time and remind them that you will pick them up at the end of the week. The phone is not for camper's use. Only in an emergency will campers be allowed to use the phone. (DCSC's phone number is 302-875-3663)
What Not to Bring: Visitors:
Radios, stereos, iPods, tape/CD players, pagers, cell phones, electronic games, TV's, tobacco, illegal drugs, alcohol, knives, firearms, playing cards, magazines, comic books, food/candy, and beverages. All of the above items, once discovered, immediately become discretionary property of the Dean. At no time will food or drink be allowed in the dorm. All visitors are to check in with the dean upon arrival and must depart by 10:00 PM. Visitors are to abide by all camp rules. Visitor meals are $3.00 per person, per meal.
Arrival & Departure: Insurance:
Check-in time is 3:00 PM on Sunday. No one will be allowed entrance into the dorm without first checking in. Mandatory head checks for lice will be conducted by the Camp Nurse or qualified designee for both campers and staff upon arrival at camp. Any camper with lice will be isolated and the Dean will make determination about the case. Campers that are dismissed with lice will receive full tuition reimbursement. Confirm departure time with the Dean at check-in on Sunday. Primary coverage is the responsibility of the camper's family insurance company. All doctor and hospital forms should be completed using the patient's name, home address, and personal insurance. The camp policy will pay costs not covered by the primary policy to the limits of the camp policy. Parents/guardians must list their insurance company(ies) and policy numbers(s) on the registration form.
