Missions Week 2008
"Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying . . . 'Whom shall I send and who will go for us?' Then said I, 'Here am I, send me.'" Isaiah 6:8

The purpose of Missions Week is to promote world missions; encourage life recruits to the mission fields; promote short-term mission trips; build strong relationships between missionaries and their supporters.

The colleges involved in this ministry are James Madison University, Eastern Mennonite College, and Blue Ridge Community College.
Robert Pemberton: Bob was born in Zimbabwae (formerly Southern Rhodesia). His parents were some of the earlier missionaries in that region of Africa. As a matter of fact, his father, John, started "Mashoko-Hippovalley Christian Mission" in 1956. They were contemporary with Max Ward Randall. He and his wife, Nancy, are involved in the medical aspect of mission work as well as that of preaching the word and "baptizing people into Christ". They have started 23 Bible Schools and now operate orphanages with 80 children. Their purpose is to train the nationals to oversee and operate all ministries and churches. The name of the church in Zimbabwae is the "Chiredzi Church of Christ". Bob and Nancy have three children - Mark (17), Stephaine (19), and Tessa (22) who is married to Nathan Lawson. They have one child. The Pembertons are presently in the United States due to the political unrest in Zimbabwae.
